I have been tying flies for over 65 years and have picked up a lot of different fly tying tips and techniques. Many of these I have not seen published anywhere else. Over the years other tiers have encouraged me to write a book on my tips, techniques, and other supportive information. The book is finally done and became available as of January 2017.
The book is only available in soft cover, is 130 pages long (including the introduction), and is 8-1/2 x 11 in size. There are over 200 color photographs that illustrate the tips and the step-by-step instruction on how to tie ten of my favorite flies. There are over tips and many more sub tips that are highlighted in italicized bold print.
In addition to the tips, there are chapters on:
-Threads and Thread Control
- Organizing and Storage of Materials
- Tying on Location
- Characteristics and Substitution of Materials
- Modifying Fly Patterns
- Teaching Other to Tie
- And much more
I self published and the book is available directly from me and it will be available through BookShelf as soon as it get's set up. The cost is $25 plus $5 for shipping and handling. I ship Media Rate so please allow 3 to 6 days for delivery.
